Entrepreneurship as an equalizer: Blueprint Green Bay set to assist startups

GREEN BAY -- Blueprint Green Bay is looking to make its mark in the region. Funded in part by a $150,000 grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., New North, Inc. has partnered with the Greater Green Bay Chamber to launch the accelerator, which focuses on startups led by minorities, veterans and women in Northeast Wisconsin.

Brosman named director of UWO's Small Business Development Center
UW OSHKOSH 

Alumnus Dan Brosman ’15, recently was promoted to director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Brosman has been with UW Oshkosh since 2018 as the director of the Alta Resources Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and as a business consultant with the SBDC. He received a bachelor’s degree from UWO and expects to receive an MBA from UWO in December 2021...

WISCONSIN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORP (WEDC) 

MADISON – Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes and staff will be traveling throughout Wisconsin visiting unique retailers and restaurants to encourage business owners to consider taking part in the new Wisconsin Tomorrow – Main Street Bounceback Grant Program.

Full details of the program will be announced Wednesday, but the $10,000 grants are intended for businesses that move into or expand into a currently vacant commercial space in a community’s downtown or in another commercial corridor....

Winnow Fund makes first investment
WIS BUSINESS 

MADISON – Winnow Fund, a venture capital fund focused on investing in Wisconsin-based seed-stage companies, has made its first investment in KaPloint, Inc., an entertainment and marketing company developing a novel mobile player platform.

Middleton-based KaPloint was founded in 2020 by Grant Stousland and Brett Rimkus. KaPloint CEO Stousland was previously with Gaming Informatics, where he was President and CEO and led its acquisition by Kobetron in 2016. Rimkus serves as CFO and an advisor to KaPloint and is also a co-founder of Singlewire Software..
