BROWN COUNTY

BROWN COUNTY – In order to better understand your internet needs, barriers and network performance, and to help shape Brown County’s and the State of Wisconsin's internet planning efforts, Brown County and the Wisconsin Broadband Office (WBO) are encouraging all Wisconsin households to take the Wisconsin Internet Self-Report (WISER) survey.
 
WISER is an online survey available HERE, or by phone at (608) 267-3595. It is designed to identify areas where internet access is either unavailable, too expensive and/or underperforming. The survey is confidential, and the number of responses and other information will be used in various visual mapping tools, such as the Brown County Broadband Planning Map....

Neilson Powless of Oneida Nation holds King of the Mountain jersey at Tour de France

Neilson Powless, an Oneida descendant with ties to the Green Bay area, has achieved what no other American has been able to in the Tour de France since 2017 — lead in the mountains.

The race started July 1 and Powless, 26, was wearing the famed “King of the Mountain” red polka-dot jersey the next day. That meant he was the first bicyclist to reach summits in difficult climbs in the Pyrenees Mountains....

Woodward Radio Group event provides 52,580 meals for veterans
INSIGHT ON BUSINESS

APPLETON -- Woodward Radio Group, in partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, hosted the fifth annual Combat Hunger raising enough dollars and pounds of food to provide 52,580 meals for veterans facing hunger in the Fox Valley.

The event took place at Pick n’ Save on 2700 N. Ballard Rd. in Appleton, with Woodward Radio Group broadcasting live from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., June 29. Members of the community dropped off food and monetary donations in the bin named for the military branch of their choice (Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy). The Army was the branch that raised the most donations. Donors who came to the event were also able to take photos with a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle brought on site by Oshkosh Defense..

Vintage cars to take over Elkhart Lake July 13-16
