Sheboygan business contest seeks entrepreneurial entrants
INSIGHT MAGAZINE  

Entrepreneurs are invited to take part in the Accelerate Sheboygan County Business Challenge.

Five entrepreneurs/innovators will receive a $1,000 grant, with a panel of judges assessing the ideas and selecting one to receive a $10,000 grand prize. The winner will be announced in December.

La’nyia Young, 14, and La’nasia Hunter, 11, are the owners of 24K Luxure Kollection. Originally from Chicago, now living in Green Bay, the girl’s first introduction to entrepreneurship was by selling tie-dye shirts last summer. After taking a few months to re-brand their business, Tie Dye Angels, the sisters decided to transition to the beauty industry, selling eye shadow, lip gloss, eyelashes, lip masks, and headbands...

Boat rental companies grow business with help of app during pandemic

OSHKOSH — The coronavirus pandemic has many people re-thinking summer vacations. Opting for more outdoor activities like boating. Boating in Wisconsin is a $4 billion a year industry in the Badger State, and some boat owners are seeing a huge demand in business, helped out by a smartphone app.

GetMyBoat.com connects boat owners with renters across the country, including Wisconsin. In Oshkosh, brothers Christopher and Michael Amos started using the app last year when they wanted to rent out their ski boat....

Pour Decisions Wine Company coming to Greenville in mid-June

Pour Decisions Wine Company will open in mid-June, according to owner Troy Reissmann. Described as an upscale wine bar that will also serve other cocktails and charcuterie boards, Pour Decisions will take over the former Third Base Bar & Grill space at W7003 Parkview Dr. in Greenville.

MADISON -- A new kind of fire truck is now being used in Madison.

The Madison Fire Department announced it now has the first-of-its-kind electric fire truck in service.

The truck was developed by both Fox Crossing-based Pierce Manufacturing and its parent company, Oshkosh Corporation.
