Army awards nearly $1 billion to Oshkosh Defense for vehicle updates

OSHKOSH -- The U.S. Army has awarded a nearly $1 billion contract to Oshkosh Defense to update the weapons system on Stryker carrier vehicleS.

“This upgrade will provide precision lethality capability to the Army’s Stryker Brigade Combat Team,” says Oshkosh Corporation.

The company will “integrate a 30MM Medium Caliber Weapon System (MCWS) onto the Stryker Double V Hull Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICVVA1).”.

SUAMICO - Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) students are using their skills out in the real world, helping to revitalize the NEW Zoo and Adventure Park in Suamico. Students in NWTC’s carpentry and electrical power and distribution programs, design and build projects to gain hands-on skills.

For years, a partnership with NWTC students and the NEW Zoo has been mutually beneficial, helping the animals as well as the students.....

OSHKOSH – The Salvation Army of Oshkosh broke ground today on a $5 million addition and renovation project going down in history as the first time in 38 years that the Salvation Army has acquired the financial resources to make a major capital reinvestment in their facilities.

“Today is the culmination of several years of dedicated planning and effort,” said Oshkosh Corps Officer Lieutenant Ross Anderson. “We are thankful and blessed to have so many wonderful donors who understand that meeting the needs of our community in the decades to come requires a major reinvestment in the Salvation Army of Oshkosh today.”...

After a survey was sent out to 50,000 employees across the country, Forbes in conjunction with market research company Statista, assessed the respondents’ feedback pinpointing the companies they identified as being most dedicated to DEI initiatives. Manitowoc unveils new year-round Lighthouse Pavilion

MANITOWOC – The City of Manitowoc celebrated the grand opening of its new Lighthouse Pavilion on Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday at 3 p.m., Manitowoc community members welcomed the new Lighthouse Pavilion, located at the Blue Rail Beach just south of the Yacht Club. Event organizers report that the pavilion was built to look like an early turn of the century boathouse with the roofing resembling the same look and feel as the new bus shelter located in downtown Manitowoc..

Kewaunee Tug Ludington open for tours has World War II connection
