The coronavirus pandemic has put an unexpected strain on nonprofit organizations in the Fox Valley.

They quickly had to adjust to meet new challenges brought on by the pandemic to keep helping the people they serve. U.S. Venture recognized the challenges facing nonprofits and decided to do something to help.

Every year, the company's U.S. Venture/Schmidt Family Foundation gives grants to local nonprofit organizations. This year, the foundation had $1.7 million to give away. To make sure the nonprofits could use the money to best meet their needs, the foundation removed....

Manitowoc, Two Rivers commit funds to COVID-19 small business relief fund

The cities of Manitowoc and Two Rivers are joining forces along with The Chamber of Manitowoc County and local businesses to create a small business relief grant to help businesses that are struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"If we look at the need in our community, it's going to be great," Manitowoc Ald. Scott McMeans said. "We don't know what that need is going to be exactly, but it's fair to say that a lot of businesses have been hurt by this."
