Town Square sells building to Green Lake business owner

Town Square Community Center announced it has sold the former Green Lake County safety building to a business owner, with plans to use proceeds to support the nonprofit’s community center’s programs and upkeep of the historic courthouse building which Town Square will continue to own.

“The sale begins an exciting new chapter for Town Square,” said Executive Director Kris Anderson. “The reduced overhead allows us to direct resources into the courthouse building and community-enriching programs for generations to come...”

The Wall That Heals is visiting these two northern Wisconsin communities in May and June

A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is coming to northern Wisconsin in late May and early June.

"The Wall That Heals" will make two stops in northern Wisconsin during its 2023 tour. The memorial will be in Rhinelander from May 18 to May 21 at Nicolet College and in Crivitz from June 1 to June 4 at the Crivitz Museum.

While the tour is being sponsored by USAA, community organizations came together to bring the wall to their towns. The exhibit has visited Wisconsin before, visiting Franklin in 2022 and Manitowoc in 2019. It had also previously visited Crivitz in 2018...

WisDOT releases plans to extend Hiawatha rail line to Green Bay, connections between Milwaukee and Madison

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) recently released a proposal to extend passenger rail services to Madison, Watertown and Waukesha County, as well as to extend the Amtrak Hiawatha service to Green Bay by the year 2050. The plans would require leveraging funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
