UW Partnership converts manure to jet fuel in fighting climate change WPXR

The University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and Agra Energy are operating Wisconsin's first commercial facility to turn manure into fuel for trucks and jets.

The project started six years ago when Agra Energy searched for waste streams to turn into fuel and that went into existing infrastructure such as tanks, pumps and engines.

The California based company refines biogases produced by landfills, food waste or manure from Wisconsin farms into fuel, said Tony Long, Agra Energy's president and chief technology officer. Its technology converts hydrogen and carbon monoxide into a chain of hydrocarbon molecules...

Menasha company plans to create new jobs after acquiring Chicago packaging business

MENASHA - Dura-Fibre acquired Greif Chicago Converting and will move its manufacturing operations to Menasha, the company announced last week.

Dura-Fibre currently employs about 60 people and has a 125,000 square-foot facility in Menasha. It creates laminated paperboard solutions, including industrial crates, folding carton packaging and furniture components, among other products.

By acquiring Greif Chicago Converting, Dura-Fibre is adding strap protectors used to protect cargo, an industrial packaging product called FiberWrap and coverboard products used for diploma covers, register books and other items, according to a Thursday news release...
