THE BUSINESS NEWS

GREEN BAY – First opening in 1948, Curative Connections – a Green Bay nonprofit that helps people find support when dealing with aging, dementia, brain injury or disabilities – is celebrating its 75th year of operation in 2023.

And if current president/CEO Jeanne Stangel has her way, Curative will be around for another 75 years.

“I’m one of the younger ones in the group in terms of being at Curative,” she said. “I’ve lived in this community for a long time, and Curative is one of the strongest nonprofit organizations around. It’s strong, sustainable and has survived 75 years of evolving with what the community needs.”

Future Neenah celebrates its 40th anniversary all year with amped up events for community
POST CRESCENT

NEENAH - Since 1983, Future Neenah has serviced its community with a wide range of programs, events and projects throughout the city.

The organization was initially formed to exclusively tackle downtown revitalization, according to assistant executive director, Sara Hanneman.

"There was a group of community minded citizens who banded together to improve downtown Neenah," Hanneman said. "(They improved) the district through streetscaping and greenery and retention and recruitment of existing and new businesses."

But once their initial goals were fulfilled, the group decided to continue on as an organization, naming themselves Future Neenah. By the 1990s, they'd made the decision to broaden their reach to the entire community and now Future Neenah's services and programs fall into three main categories: economic development, community partnerships and community events.

WMC accepting nominations for Friend of Environment Awards
INSIGHT ON BUSINESS

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce – the combined state chamber and manufacturers’ association – has opened nominations for its annual Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Awards Program.

WMC has facilitated the program for over 30 years as a means to demonstrate to state policymakers, businesses and the public that sound environmental practices are good for Wisconsin and its business environment. The organization is launching this year's program ahead of Earth Day, celebrated April 22 each year.

“Wisconsin companies representing a wide array of industries work hard to champion our environment,” said WMC Director of Environmental & Energy Policy Craig Summerfield. “This program gives us a great opportunity to highlight companies that go above and beyond to preserve the environment for future generations.”
