Appleton Airport sees 23% increase in air travel since last March

APPLETON -- As the number of people who receive their COVID-19 vaccination rises, airport officials say they’re seeing more people traveling locally and throughout the country.

According to officials at Appleton International Airport, they’re seeing the number of people flying getting back to pre-pandemic levels, with a 23% increase in travelers last month compared to March of 2020.

The Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation launched a partnership to promote Kewaunee County’s economic diversity and growth. The KCEDC and Greater Green Bay Chamber are teaming up in hopes of mutually benefitting both areas. KCEDC Executive Director, Ben Nelson, says part of the desire for partnering is that economic development doesn’t just happen within local boundaries. Nelson added that it makes sense to look throughout the region in raising awareness for marketing the Kewaunee County and greater Green Bay areas.
