ThedaCare surpasses 50K COVID-19 vaccines administered

NEENAH -- ThedaCare has reached a milestone in the COVID-19 vaccination process.


The Fox Valley health system has surpassed 50,000 vaccines administered. Between Dec. 24, 2020 and Sunday, 51,034 vaccines have been administered, according to a news release.

Between Wednesday and April 27, ThedaCare expects to receive 2,478 doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccine. A target of 10,000 vaccinations per week continues, the health system says....

Restaurant industry facing worker shortage as business comes back

NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) - Restaurants lost a lot of business last year due to the pandemic. But now, as things are looking up, a new problem is plaguing the industry.

The restaurant industry has been one of the hardest hit during the pandemic, with many having to take extreme measures to stay afloat. “We had to lay off team members, and that was just a real tough decision because we know how much it impacted them, their families, their loved ones, their lives,” said Ryan Batley.

Batley is the general manager of Best Western Premier Bridgewood Resort Hotel in Neenah, which includes a Ground Round restaurant.

Now, with vaccinations up and summer weather on the way, business is coming back to restaurants. It makes Batley hopeful, but it does create a new industry issue...

New concert venue holds first event in Ashwaubenon

ASHWAUBENON -- With vaccinations underway, we’re starting to see more events and activities open in the area. Thursday night, the Epic Event Center in Ashwaubenon opened for its first concert at the former Gordmans store at 2351 Holmgren Way.

Three acts took the stage, headlined by the rock band Otherwise.

The new entertainment venue has a capacity to host up to 2,100 people but is starting with a capacity of about 400. Earlier this year, Epic announced it would open with a limited capacity in a pod format, allowing groups of up to 6 people to sit together, six feet apart from other groups...
