GREEN BAY -- On Broadway, Inc. has purchased Old Fort Square as development continues on the Green Bay Public Market project.

“This is a complex project with many moving pieces,” said Brian Johnson, executive director, On Broadway, Inc. “Assembling the capital stack to purchase the property is a significant milestone that demonstrates our commitment to the end product. Now we turn our attention to next steps including capital campaign, design contracts, public market tenant recruitment, and existing tenant relocation.”...

City of Sheboygan buys 197 acres of farmland in Town of Wilson

Hoping to address the dearth of available homes in their community, the landlocked city of Sheboygan has purchased 197 acres of farmland in the neighboring Town of Wilson for $3.67 million.

The plan, said Chad Pelishek, the city’s director of planning & development, is to annex the property and then work with developers to transform various sections of the parcel, and an adjacent 73 acres property, into 270 acres of available land that can be used for residential development.

The 197 acres property sits directly to the east of Moenning Road, near Creekview Court, across the road from an existing subdivision. It was sold to the city by farmer David Gartman...

GREEN BAY – It’s a gargantuan number – $150 million in grants given, real dollars put into community assets, over 30 years.

Though quite the achievement, Dennis Buehler, president and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation (GGBCF), said the organization doesn’t plan on getting too hung up on it.

Buehler said the recently-achieved milestone is just a marker on the way to GGBCF fulfilling its mission: “To inspire and encourage charitable giving in Northeast Wisconsin by connecting caring people with solutions to strengthen our community.”....

New LTC associate's degree programs offer direct path to UWGB bachelor's degree
SHEBOYGAN SUN   

CLEVELAND - This Fall, Lakeshore Technical College students will be able to earn Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees for the first time in the school's history. Approval for the degree programs was granted by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents on April 8.

The 60-credit Associate's degrees will satisfy all of the general education requirements for a Bachelor's degree, and due to LTC's partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, students will be guaranteed junior status when they transfer to UWGB.

In addition to completing their general education requirements, LTC students will have the opportunity to take elective courses that will prepare them for their major...

Sheboygan is getting 10 new buses and a new trolley. What this means for Shoreline Metro's fleet
SHEBOYGAN PRESS  

Shoreline Metro, Sheboygan’s municipal bus service, will receive 10 new buses this spring through various grants.

A news release said the service’s fleet was 75% past useful life in 2019. Now, after these purchases and others the past two years, the fleet will be 100% within useful life.

The new buses will have features like USB charging ports, high-definition security cameras, anti-slip flooring and wheelchair accessibility....
