FLORENCE, Wis. – The 16th Sustainable Forestry Conference will be held Wednesday, May 5th from 7:30 am until 3:15 pm at the Keyes Peak Ski Lodge, 4960 Hwy 101, four miles south of Florence. This year’s conference focuses on “Changing Forest Industry Dynamics”. Wood supply, demand and markets are always changing and so are the technology and best practices related to doing business.

This is an “In-Person” event. Organizers encourage individuals from Wisconsin and Michigan regional wood products and logging businesses, local government, forestry and land management, school boards and administrators, utilities, economic development, state government and other related associations and resource agencies to attend. Kohler Power Systems, a business within the Kohler Co. Power Group, is adding 155,000 square feet to its manufacturing facility in Sheboygan County town of Mosel.

Restorations planned for Carnegie Building, Kaukauna’s old library

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WBAY) - The City of Kaukauna will work with a company to redevelop the historical Carnegie Building, which used to be the city’s public library.

At a meeting Tuesday, the common council voted to enter an agreement with 111 Main Street LLC, named for the library’s address, with developer Tim Schuelke.

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Properties, and because of its significance in the community the city is looking for a way to adapt it for reuse...

The map was created as part of the company’s 2035 Vision.

There’s a place in Ripon that’s providing a space for musicians and artists to get as creative as they want to. At The Heist, organizers have converted a former bank into a community space that they hope will bring people together. Ayisha Jaffer recently spent a weekend there and introduces us to the makers at The Heist.

Sam Luna is a musician, creator, curator and educator. He’s traveled across the nation, searching for his artistic home in places like New Mexico and Los Angeles, with a goal of starting a project that amplifies a greater artist community.
