Attract, Develop and Retain Diverse Talent
Three Sheboygan County employers among Fast Forward Worker Training Grant recipients

SHEBOYGAN -- Three Sheboygan County employers have been granted nearly $765,000 collectively by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development through the Fast Forward Worker Training Program. In all, the $3.8M statewide sum will support 24 employers in order to provide new or increased wages for 1,415 trainees across five high-demand sectors, made possible through partnerships with community organizations, local employers and industry associations.

In Sheboygan County, those industries include a $299,220 grant to Masters Gallery Foods which is partnering with Midwest Engineered Systems Inc., Somic Packaging Inc., Quest Industrial LLC, BW Packaging Systems/Hayssen, and Coprodev Plus to provide training to 30 unemployed individuals and 70 incumbent workers. After training, those incumbent workers could receive a wage increase of 29 cents more per hour...

Outagamie County ushers in new era of renewable energy with new facility

APPLETON -- Outagamie County is celebrating a project that will provide clean energy well beyond county lines.

The county held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday for its new $25 million renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste.
