NEW NORTH – Suneer Patel, who has spent more than a quarter-century in area manufacturing, has joined the board of directors of New North Inc., the regional economic development corporation for the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin. He was advanced by New North’s board development committee and approved by the Board.

“Suneer brings a long manufacturing career within the New North region to our board of directors. Having this level of leadership and experience in such a key industry will benefit our Board and organization as we continue to build on our converting corridor, comprised of related plastics-manufacturing assets,” says Barb LaMue, president and CEO of New North Inc. “We thank Andy Hetzel for his board service as he assumes the role of chairman of the board at FyterTech Nonwovens.”....

Shareholders approve Bank First merger with Hometown Bancorp

MANITOWOC -- Bank First Corporation (the holding company of Bank First NA) announced it will merge with Hometown Bancorp Ltd. effective Feb. 10.

It was announced Jan. 13 that 97 percent of votes cast by Hometown shareholders were in favor of the merger.

MADISON – Employers are now able to apply for the latest round of Wisconsin Fast Forward grants from the Department of Workforce Development (DWD). Up to $2 million in funding is available to employers who demonstrate a critical need for skilled workers and are seeking training grants to develop and implement a business-led skills training program.

GRESHAM – For much of her life, Christa Hoffman – business development administrator with the URUS Group – has worked to highlight the importance of the farming and agriculture industries.

Whether that was as a kid growing up as the fourth generation on her family farm, living and working on her husband’s family dairy farm as fifth generation farmers or helping producers around the world gain access to basic agricultural technology through her position with URUS – Hoffman said farming is in her blood.

“I was raised as the fourth generation on my family’s farm and my children are the sixth generation farmers in my husband's family,” she said. “The agriculture, and especially dairy, industry is a big family. Climbing the attendance ladder: Resch Center jumps more than 60 places on concert attendance list

ASHWAUBENON – Spurred on by a solid 2022, the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon saw a major leap in Pollstar’s list of the top 200 bestselling arenas in the world.

Built in 2002, the 20-year-old venue jumped from 154th on the list in 2021 to 90th this past year.

“We’ve had a lot of opportunities because of our relationships with the people we work with,” Kristie Haney, vice president of events and booking at PMI Entertainment Group, said. “Whether it be agents or promoters, they’ve come to like doing business with us. SHAWANO – Northeast Wisconsin Technical College has launched a long-term scholarship endowment available to residents of the greater Shawano area.

The scholarship endowment is created by donations through the NWTC Foundation. The invested earnings will be used to provide an annual scholarship fund, creating ongoing aid to greater Shawano area residents.

For example, if the Foundation receives $2 million in donations, $100,000 of that will be awarded in scholarships annually...
