Solar facility will add clean energy to the grid and help power the community for decades

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - January 15, 2021 - Alliant Energy and the city of Sheboygan have reached an agreement to install a 1-megawatt (MW) solar facility in the Sheboygan Business Center. On Monday, January 18, a lease will be introduced during the Common Council Meeting.

New North Inc. providing more online workforce resources amid pandemic

Throughout 2020, Wisconsin businesses were surveyed to monitor the pandemic’s economic impact.

One of the organizations behind those surveys is using what was learned to try to mitigate last year’s drag on the economy.

“The pandemic that we’re in certainly has affected certain segments of our population disproportionally over others,” said Barb LaMue.

LaMue is President and CEO of New North, Inc., a nonprofit regional economic development corporation serving 18 counties.

“We felt that we really needed to create some upskilling programs to get people back to work,” said LaMue.

The Green Bay Packers Foundation and Greater Green Bay Community Foundation’s Give BIG Green Bay community-wide giving day is set for noon on Feb. 16 until noon on Feb. 17.

The 24-hour crowdfunding event helps raise money for Brown County nonprofits.
