| | Recycling Soap - Using Soap Left-overs Did you know that you can turn left-over scraps of soap into new bars of soap? Here's how: Place into food processor the following: 50g broken soap scraps, 2 tablespoons rolled oats and 1 tablespoon dried or fresh herbs or flower petals. Blend 10-20 seconds (only) to create a coarse powder. Pour into small bowl. Add 1 - 2 dessertspoons cold water. Using fingers blend the mixture well – you may need to add more water or dry ingredients to achieve the right consistency. (Note: It may seem at first that there is not enough water, but eventually the mixture will blend).
|
| Roll
the mixture into small balls or press into biscuit cutters to make
various shapes. Place on tray and leave one week to dry. For stronger
scent add a few drops essential oil (lemon, lavender, or similar) to the
mixture or on your hands before rolling (wear gloves). Other suggested
additives: spice powder (cinnamon, mixed spice, etc.) and/or grated
lemon peel. Gift Idea: Wash balls make lovely gifts wrapped in cellophane and tied
with ribbon.
