The National Center for School Mental Health (NCSMH) and the School-Based Health Alliance (the Alliance) invite states—in collaboration with five local entities (e.g., school-based health centers, school regions, school districts, hospitals, local public health authorities, federally qualified health centers, etc.)—to apply to participate in a 12-month Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (CoIIN). This CoIIN will focus on making measurable improvements to students’ health and mental health (including social, emotional, behavioral health, and substance use). Up to five states will be selected to participate in the Comprehensive School Mental Health Systems track, led by the NCSMH.
Benefits of CoIIN Participation Members of your CoIIN team will receive ongoing professional development, expert training, coaching and technical assistance provided at no cost by national experts and peers participating in the collaborative, including: - A two-day in-person, National Leadership Launch for state agency team members in the Washington D.C. region (with funding to support two team members to travel)
- Four virtual learning sessions
- A one-day in-person “Kick-Off” learning session in your state for your entire CoIIN team (i.e. state leaders and the five local entities).
- Monthly consultation calls
- Expert and peer support on quality improvement efforts
- Training and technical assistance to support online data collection and reporting
- Participation by state agency and organization leaders in the School Health Services National Community of Practice
In addition to... - Access to an extensive array of quality improvement materials for use in the CoIIN and other efforts
- Access to a national network of peers and state and local leaders who will share lessons learned, address challenges, and identify new strategies to school health services quality and sustainability
- Access to quality improvement platforms that populate individualized reports and resources specific to school health and mental health service systems
