Dear Colleague,

Our hearts go out to the victims of the tragedy at Michigan State University. As a Center focused on creating safe and supportive school campuses, we are especially saddened at the violent acts that occurred there, exactly five years after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. We also recognize that many are suffering from other national tragedies including the environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, and the unthinkable loss of life from the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Below are resources to help cope in the wake of violent or traumatic events.

• The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) has created many excellent resources for students, staff, and families affected by school shootings and sent a message of support and resource list following the Michigan State University Shooting.

• Our NCSMH team created the document Supporting Students, Staff, Families, and Communities Impacted by Violence with links to resources.
