Subject: Seeking school mental health clinicians: Earn up to $300 to provide feedback on a new assessment platform

Dear Colleague,

We are seeking feedback on a new assessment platform for school mental health!

With funding from the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH), 3C

Institute and the National Center of School Mental Health (NCSMH) are

developing a unique assessment platform for school mental health (SMH)

providers. The SHARE (Student Health Assessment, Response, and Evaluation) software system will streamline administration, scoring, and reporting of validated mental health (MH) and MH-related assessment measures for screening, progress monitoring, and evaluation of student mental health and well-being. SHARE will enable school mental health (SMH) providers to collect data from teachers, caregivers, and students themselves and provide tailored professional development resources to support use of that data to inform treatment planning and MH services for youth.

We are seeking clinicians (licensed psychologists, social workers, or counselors) who are (1) currently working in K-12 schools to support student MH and well-being and (2) working with at least 5 students on a weekly basis.

We need your help to make sure the SHARE system is easy to use and feasible for regular use by SMH providers. We would like you to try out SHARE as part of your clinical work, collecting the same kind of measures you have used before, but while using a platform that will make it more doable for students and providers.

You will be asked to do the following:

• Attend a 45-minute webinar training on how to use the SHARE system

• Complete a brief online survey to assess your level of experience and comfort using MH assessments

• Use SHARE in your typical practice with two or more students over a 1-month test period

• Complete the professional development (PD) modules available in SHARE

• Evaluate SHARE’s usability by completing three brief measures

• Attend a 1-hour focus group via video conference to review SHARE and provide feedback and/or

recommendations

• Complete rating scales to rate SHARE in terms of its (a) innovation/advantage over current assessment

methods, (b) feasibility of use in school-based settings, (c) potential value, and (d) advocacy (i.e., would recommend SHARE to peers or would want to use SHARE when available)

To participate, submit this interest survey no later than September 13th.

We will notify you if you are selected to participate by September 20th.

Participation will take a total of approximately 12-16 hours over a course of 6 weeks, and all study activities must be completed no later than November 15th. As a thank you for participating in this study, you will receive up to $300 and at least 1 continuing education (CE) credit.

If you have any questions about this research study, please contact Melissa DeRosier, Principal Investigator, at derosier@3cisd.com or Sharon Hoover, Co-PI, at shoover@som.umaryland.edu.
