Subject: Call for Papers – Special Issue on SEL Implementation in Social and Emotional Learning: Research, Practice, and Policy

Dear Colleague,

The peer-reviewed journal Social and Emotional Learning: Research, Practice, and Policy (ISSN: 2773-2339) is currently accepting manuscript submissions for a forthcoming special issue titled, “Optimizing the Implementation and Outcomes of Social and Emotional Learning: Creating Systems to Promote Scale-up and Sustainability.” This issue will address the increasing interest in implementation science as it relates to SEL programming across educational and community contexts.

The publication is seeking submissions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers that explore innovative approaches, emerging challenges, and promising strategies for enhancing SEL implementation and outcomes. Contributions from a variety of disciplines and methodologies are encouraged, including empirical research, policy analysis, and practice-oriented perspectives.

Full manuscripts must be submitted for peer review by October 15, 2025, through the journal’s online submission portal. Be sure to select VSI: SEL Implementation and indicate the relevant journal section (empirical, perspectives, practice, or policy). Please consult the Guidelines for Authors for more details, including specific instructions for practice and policy submissions.

All accepted articles will receive a 50% waiver on open access publishing fees, with additional support available as outlined in the SEL Journal’s FAQs. For questions regarding the special issue, contact guest editor Dr. Catherine Bradshaw at cpb8g@virginia.edu.
