Promoting School Well-Being Learning Community

Join us!

The National Center for School Mental Health (NCSMH) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with funding from the Central East Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) at the Danya Institute, invites school stakeholders to participate in a 4-month learning community on school well-being. We will run two learning communities: one for administrative and leadership teams, and one for school staff.

Purpose of the Learning Community

To support and facilitate knowledge acquisition, skill attainment, and implementation support related to the well-being needs of school communities.

Why Participate in the Learning Community?

  • Learn about best practices for school well-being at organization and staff levels from expert faculty at the National Center for School Mental Health.

  • Build individual and collective capacity for promoting and supporting sustainable school well-being efforts.

  • Establish and receive feedback on quality improvement goals.

  • Learn alongside other school stakeholders from across the region and contribute to cross-site sharing of school mental health best practices, information, and resources.

  • Get a “sneak peek” at the soon-to-be released Organizational Well-Being Instrument for Schools (OWBI-S)!

Expected Responsibilities

Participating sites must agree to the following:

  • Identify at least one champion who will participate in the monthly 60-minute virtual learning sessions over a 4-month period.

  • Set specific goals for school well-being at the organization and/or staff levels.
