University of Maryland School of Medicine

  • The University of Maryland, Baltimore, School Mental Health Program has an exciting opening for a School Mental Health Counselor or Senior Counselor, Department of Psychiatry - Child and Adolescent Division (Baltimore City, Maryland). The counselor (LMSW, LGPC) or senior counselor (LCSW-C, LCPC) will provide a full continuum of mental health services and consultation to students enrolled in Baltimore City Schools. Services include prevention, early intervention, and treatment. This is an in-person, 12-month position with excellent benefits and an incredible array of professional development!

Research Participation Requests

Youth-Nex Drive Seeks School Mental Professionals to Participate in a Mixed-Reality Simulation Training

Are you in a school mental health role such as a counselor, psychologist, social worker, or nurse? The Youth-Nex Drive team of the University of Virginia is looking to pilot a training with school mental health professionals and others working in public schools who support youth returning to school after mental health related Emergency Department visits.


Participants will:

  • Complete 3 brief training modules (45-60 mins. total).

  • Participate in a mixed reality simulation experience.

  • Complete a follow-up survey.


After completing the training and survey, participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. See the study link for additional details.

University of Missouri Researcher Seeks Participants for a Study on Family-Engaged, Trauma-Informed School Practices

University of Missouri researcher, Rachel Santiago, PhD, is looking to recruit school mental health professionals at K-12 schools who implement trauma-informed practices and consider families in at least one component of trauma-informed practices.


Participants will complete a 45-minute semi-structured interview discussing their experiences with engaging (or attempting to engage) families in trauma-informed practices. Interviews will either be held in person or by Zoom.


After completing the interview, participants will receive a $50 electronic gift card for their time and effort. See the study link for additional details.
