New Release from Friendship Press by Bishop Teresa Snorton

AVAILABLE NOW! $19.99

Roots of Resilience: Black History Through the Eyes of Faith is a transformative guide designed to empower churches and communities to teach Black History with confidence and conviction. At a time when public education struggles to preserve these vital narratives, this resource places the stories of Black Americans in the context of faith, resilience, and justice.

Grounded in biblical principles, Roots of Resilience connects historical struggles and triumphs to the ongoing call for equity and love in action. Readers, congregations, and small groups alike will discover how understanding the past can illuminate the path toward a better future.

Bishop Teresa Snorton is a bishop, pastor, preacher, teacher, chaplain, author, and executive leader in religion and pastoral care. As an ordained CME (Christian Methodist Episcopal) minister, Bishop Snorton is passionate about the local church and about interfaith and multifaith initiatives that meet the needs of people and communities.

In June 2010, Rev. Dr. Snorton was elected the 59th Bishop of the CME Church, the denomination's first female elected to the episcopal office. She is currently the denomination's first Ecumenical Bishop and Program Development Officer.

In addition to her episcopal duties, Bishop Snorton is a pastoral care provider and educator. She is a past chair of the National Council of Churches Governing Board.
