NCAT recently introduced an Aboriginal Tenancy List in the Consumer and Commercial Division on 6 September 2023.
The key objective of the List is to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to get more involved in the Tribunal process. The List makes it easier for them to access support and advocacy services.
The Aboriginal Tenancy List will:
Allows extra time for Tribunal Members to deal with matters Facilitates access to service providers including advocates and financial counsellors Provides access to conciliators to help you come to a solution that everybody agrees with during conciliation.
