Subject: Friend Just wanted to clarify a common concern with tax deductions

Assalamu Alaykum Friend

Around this time every year, we get a common question asked: "Do I still get hasanat from my donation if I claim it on tax?"

The answer is Yes.

Your Zakat or Sadaqah payment between you & NZF is a completely separate transaction to your subsequent tax claim which is a separate transaction between you & the ATO.

The tax claim does not impact your donation in any means.

So there is no reason to "feel bad" about claiming your Zakat or Sadaqah payment as a tax deduction!

If you've already made a donation to NZF, you should have received your receipts by now. If not, please send us an email to let us know and our finance team will send it through insha Allah.
