Today we want to share with you the story of a brave sister. A sister who almost lost it all, but who clawed her way back and became a proud part of our community.
To many she is already well known, at least in parts of the Sydney Muslim community. But her story needs much broader exposure.
Her name is Rahma Wisodo, and her story is a great illustration of the potential of Zakat given right into Australia which can have an impact in changing the lives of our brothers and sisters right here in Australia.
She shares her story of how NZF Australia helped her rebuild her life when she returned to Australia after escaping domestic violence.
Many survivors of DV like Sr Rahma leave their situations with little to their name and no one to turn to. But NZF gives victims of DV the resources and support network they need to thrive and start anew.
Friend This is why we're calling on our brothers and sisters to think deeply about the sorts of impacts their Zakat can have on the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.
