If you are preparing for your 27th of Ramadan tonight, we ask Allah (SWT) blesses the day and night ahead and allows you to make the most of it. May Allah accept your worship and efforts!

If you've just finished your 27th, you probably need to begin thinking about another important "Zakat" - another important obligation related to Zakat, that being Zakat al-Fitr.

If you have not paid your Zakat al-Fitr yet, just a reminder that we at NZF will again be taking Fitr payments. We request you please organise this asap so we can give it out before Eid day - this is part of the obligation.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

• Zakat al-Fitr is an obligatory, small charity given at the end of Ramadan directed to those in need.

• Its wisdom is to ensure that everyone in our community should not worry about food for at least the day of Eid, so we can all celebrate this special day together.

• Fitr must be given before Eid Salah or else it is invalid.

• It is a duty which is mandatory on every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult, as long as they have the means to do so.

As per the Australian National Imam Council $17 per person is the amount for Zakat al-Fitr this year. When you give via NZF, your Fitr will be given to the most needy here in our community.

The easy-to-use payment portal allows the Zakat al-Fitr you owe to be easily calculated. We'd appreciate it if you can organise to fulfill your Fitr as early as possible, so we can do our job and get it to those in need before Eid insha Allah.
