Subject: Something I've always been thinking about ...

Assalamualaikum Friend

Being part of the team at the National Zakat Foundation, I have been fascinated by the empowerment that is enabled through the wisdom of Zakat in our community subhan Allah.

However, over the last few months I have been pondering on why we should limit this empowerment to just the framework of Zakat?

To this effect, along with the Islamic Museum of Australia in Melbourne, we are organising a night to discuss projects to help uplift our community next week.

I have met many of you, who either as businesses or just individuals, want to give back to the community and are working in isolation on various projects. May Allah multiply your rewards for this work that you do.

I would like to invite you next week, for us to get to know one another better, and discuss how we as a group can further uplift our community through jointly working on projects that can have a far reaching impact.

In addition to myself and other senior members from the NZF team, we will also have representation by the below respected members of the community along with plenty of networking time for collaboration.
  • Mrs Sherene Hassan, Director, Islamic Museum of Australia
  • Mr Almir Colan, Director, Australian Centre for Islamic Finance
