Assalaamalaikum Friend

I hope you're doing well insha Allah. The NZF team and I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for having trusted NZF with your Zakat & Sadaqah. Alhamdulillah, with your support we have been able to distribute $9.42 million of Zakat funds and have worked with 13,346  cases in Australia since 2013.

So far this year, I’ve been busy coordinating a number of activities this month and here are some key highlights I thought you’d enjoy:

What's new at NZF?
NZF x Melbourne Madinah Grand Opening
Last week, NZF’s Melbourne team celebrated the end of the Victorian lockdown and their move to Melbourne Madinah with a Grand Opening event and Afternoon Tea. The team had the chance to reunite, decorate the office, chat with members of the community, and reflect on the value of Zakat for Muslims in Australia.

Zikkies in Melbourne
Zikkies is finally coming to Melbourne! Our new Zikkies team is working closely with myself, Zikkies Sydney’s manager and the NZF Melbourne team to start setting up a new store in Coburg, Victoria. Clothing 4 Dawah will also be working with Zikkies Melbourne to provide donated items given by the Muslim community in Melbourne to kickstart this initiative. If you’d like to contribute and donate items to the Zikkies Melbourne Op-Shop, contact Br Munir Abdella at 0435 811 576 to find out how.
Community Programs
After months of planning and collaborating, we’ve taken your thoughts, ideas and suggestions to build long-term community programs in partnership with various Muslim organisations and individuals that we strongly believe will drive a much-needed step change by addressing issues at a grassroots level in the following categories – Children and Youth, Community Welfare, Emergency Support, and Education & Youth.

We currently have 3 active new programs that are helping Muslims in need in Australia – Brighter Futures Program (for the Yateem/Orphans), Healing Forward Program (for victims of Domestic Violence), and Muslims with Special Needs Program. This week, we are also working on a Marketing campaign called
Healing Forward to raise awareness on Domestic and Family Violence, its prevalence and effects, and how we can stand up against it as the Muslim community in Australia.
If you’d like to collaborate as partners on any of these programs or categories, please call us on 1300 663 729 to find out more.

If you’d like to apply for these programs or know someone who does, please visit www.nzf.org.au/apply to start.

I hope you’re as excited about these new changes as I am and if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to get in touch with me.

Thank you once again for supporting local through NZF. I look forward to hearing from you.

Wasalaam,
Abu Muneer
