IT'S TIME TO WRAP UP RAMADAN
Assalamualaikum

We're nearly at the end. It's normal for us to feel remorse that this blessed month has yet again slipped us by.

As a Muslim, we should always strive to improve, and again it's normal for many of us to feel we could have done better during Ramadan. We could have made more dua, read more Qur'an, prayed more optional prayers & given more charity.

Ibn al-Jawzi said:

"When the race horse knows that it is nearing the end of the track it exerts all of its effort to win the race. Do not allow the race horse to be more clever than you. For verily, deeds are judged by their conclusions. So if you didn't do well with welcoming Ramadan then perhaps you will do better bidding it farewell."

So let's not let the last two days slip us by.

Firstly your obligations

1. Have you paid your Zakat ul Fitr? This MUST be paid before Eid prayers for every Muslim, children included. Fitr is $12 per person. Click here to pay it now.

2. Zakat ul Maal - If you have a Zakat anniversary and it is in Ramadan, then we hope you have paid it on time. If you haven't, then this is now a debt on you. Please pay ASAP.

If you do not have a anniversary and have had more than the nisab (approx $420) for more than 12 months, then you need to pick a date ASAP and pay your Zakat. Most people pick Ramadan to increase their rewards. You have two more days to do this. We suggest you pick tonight, 29 Ramadan, and spend some time to calculate and pay your Zakat. This is in itself a beautiful act of worship for which your rewards are with Allah.

Next your optional charity

Once you have completed your obligations, why stop there? Let's push ourselves that little bit more to do our best this Ramadan to maximise our rewards with Allah SWT.

Why not support the work we do at NZF with your Sadaqah to help us expand our operations so we can increase the effectiveness of the collection & distribution of Zakat. This could be a means of ongoing Sadaqah Jaariyah for you as we continue to revive the benefits of this forgotten Pillar of Islam, in turn strengthening the local Muslim community. And you will be receiving all the rewards.

You can make a one off donation or sign up using PayPal for two automatic donations on these two nights of Ramadan.

At NZF, we'd like to thank you for all your support thus far. We will send through a summary in the next couple of days insha Allah so you can see how your Zakat is making a difference, right here in our community.

May Allah accept all our deeds this Ramadan, may He Forgive us and may He allow us to witness many more Ramadans to come. Ameen.
