Assalamu Alaykum,
Its been a while since our last update to you. However we have been very busy continuing helping the poor and needy on our doorstep.
Last month we reached the milestone of our 1000th case. Yes one thousand. Actually the exact number as at 31 March was 1079. In our 22 months, since our launch in July 2013, we have distributed $711,565.88 of your Zakat. That is made possible by the Mercy and Blessings of Allah, followed by your generous support. Needless to remind you that at NZF we pride ourselves on the fact that we distribute 100% of the Zakat received to the poor and needy here in Australia. |

White Ribbon Day
In February we participated in the White Ribbon events. This is a program to highlight the issue of domestic violence. We are in the process of engaging with a few women’s organisations that deal specifically with this issue, in order for us to leverage of their skills and services and to avoid duplication. | Homeless Run Team
As part of our outreach program, we have started an engagement with the Homeless Run team which distributes food to homeless people on the streets of Australia!
We are also participating with another group establishing a much needed new drug rehabilitation centre.

| Shelter Program
As part of our shelter/homeless program, in March we also leased our first property to facilitate the burden of temporary homelessness, especially for our newly reverted sisters. |

| | Ramadan is coming ...
As we all look forward to Ramadan starting on the 18th of June (subject to moon sighting), this is also a month where many of us pay our obligatory Zakat, one of the pillars of our Deen. During Ramadan, at NZF we organise special Zakat clinics to make your Zakat calculation easier, particularly for those of you who might have complex financial arrangements or are running your own businesses.
Keep an eye out on our website for our Zakat clinic schedule in your city. We will generally lock the dates down before Ramadan. In addition to clinics, we will also be providing our usual services below: - Help with the calculation of your Zakat (simple and complex).
- Accept your Zakat for 100% distribution (At NZF we don't take any portion of your Zakat money for administration etc.).
- We will distribute your Zakat locally in Australia.
- All your donations are 100% Tax Deductible.
- We also accept other payments such as Fidya, Fitra, Kaffaarah, Tainted Wealth and of course Sadaqah.

Other news
- Our offices in WA and QLD is also now becoming more active, with semi fulltime caseworkers now available for appointments
- We are also looking for volunteers in our marketing department, to help with marketing coordination, social media management, graphic design, etc. so you can help us increase awareness of NZF to more people in need!
