Assalamu Alaykum Friend,

Another busy month has quickly passed by at NZF. While many of you were preparing for the back-to-school season, we were grateful to continue providing support to struggling parents through our Back to School program Alhamdulillah. Thank you for your ongoing support!

As we approach Ramadan, our "Zakat season" is also ramping up. If you have any questions about Zakat calculation or missed Zakat, our team is here to help. Additionally, we are excited to announce our annual Zakat Master Class tour. Our team will be visiting mosques, organisations, and community groups to provide education on the basics of Zakat and answer any related questions. See below for more information and to request for a Master Class at your Mosque or Community group.

Lastly, we ask that you keep our brothers and sisters affected by the floods in New Zealand in your thoughts and prayers. We are working closely with NZF New Zealand to provide support. If you know of anyone in NZ who might need help, please see details below on how they can reach out for assistance.

Ramadan is quickly approaching and we are also counting down to the end of our 10th year since we started in Australia in 2013. We can't wait to share with you what we have achieved with your continued support over the last decade. More details to come soon, insha Allah.

Zakat Master Class is back for 2023!

Ramadan is fast approaching - it's almost that time of year when Muslims prepare to pay their Zakat. If you are an Islamic organisation, a local mosque or even a small community group, we are looking to partner with you in running FREE Zakat educational workshops for the community!

What would you expect from a class:

Workshop that covers the basics of Zakat, its blessings and impact on us as individuals, and on the Muslim community around us.
Information session that address specific topics surrounding Zakat, the need for Zakat locally and overseas, Zakat eligibility, calculation and more.
QandA session to answer questions and concerns on Zakat distribution and calculation, our local services, community work and more.

We have a female facilitator available for female only classes.

Back To School Update

We've just completed our Back to School Program for 2023, Alhamdulillah. It was primarily aimed at families who may not qualify for various state government schemes or their financial situation is so difficult that additional assistance was deemed necessary.

This year with your support we distributed $268,120 in Zakat and assisted 685 families; 912 were primary school students and 611 were high school students.

Thank you for your ongoing support in giving relief to these families who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.

Auckland Flood Emergency

New Zealand was hit by major floods in the city of Auckland. We pray those affected are safe and well.

To anyone in Australia with friends/relatives caught up in the Auckland floods needing financial help. Please have them reach out to NZF New Zealand.
