Subject: As promised Friend, here is our distribution update!

Asalamu Alaykum Friend

Thank you for paying your Zakat locally through NZF.

As I had promised earlier this year, one of our core focus areas is transparency. In particular, we want to be able to keep donors such as yourself informed as to exactly how your is empowering our community locally.

With this in mind, we will be rolling out two key activities of keeping you updated

  1. Regular email updates on Zakat distribution figures.

  2. Quarterly LIVE Zoom sessions with the NZF Leadership team so you can connect, ask questions and provide input and recommendations on NZF initiatives. Our first session is planned for Wednesday, 28 Oct at 9 PM Sydney time and we'll be sending out invites shortly, insha Allah.

To get a pulse of how you think we are performing as an organisation, can I also kindly request you to take 10 seconds and rate us from 1 to 10 by clicking below? This will assist us greatly in understanding how we need to improve. Jazaak Allah Khair.

Our Distribution Update

In the 3 month period between 1st July 2020 to 30th September 2020, we distributed $539,218.92 in Zakat, assisting 518 people in need right here in Australia.

Top 3 areas of assistance

 Medical & Food - $59,242.42

usually to help with unaffordable emergency medical costs and in many cases, to provide food vouchers to ease the financial burden during a difficult time

 Housing - $148,201.23

usually towards rent assistance or crisis accommodation

 Household Goods - $73,521.68

was used to provide every day household goods when people have used all their savings in just paying their rent

Who did we assist?

We assised 310 refugees, students and people on bridging visas with no access to any benefits. 295 of the people we assisted were either single parents, widows or divorcees.

As a side note, sadly in just these two months, there were 503 children, who belonged to those that we assisted, children who struggle to have a normal life due to their carers going through challenging times.

If you haven't, please click below to tell us how we're doing. It will only take 10 seconds of your time.
