Coaches and Managers
If you've been around Memphis soccer for the past five years, you know what the Oxford Preseason Invitational meant to the start of a season. Two games, one day, great competition, and a chance to get high quality friendlies in before things really got going. For a lot of teams and families it became a tradition, and honestly it was one of those events that just worked.
So when it came time to think about what's next, the answer wasn't complicated — take everything that made the OPI great and build something bigger around it.
Welcome to the Memphis Soccer Invitational.
The MSI is a full tournament — 3 game minimum, excellent competition, and a format designed specifically to kick off your season the right way. Boys and girls U8–U19, running August 28–30 at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. That timing is deliberate — end of preseason, start of your fall season, and the fields at Mike Rose are going to be in pristine condition. Fresh, fast, and in better shape than you'll see them at any other point in the year. There's simply no better time to be at that facility.
And the people running it matter too. Evan Hacker and Mike Knowles are the tournament directors, and between the two of them you're looking at nearly 20 years of running high-level soccer events in this city. This isn't a new organization figuring things out — this is one of the most experienced teams in Memphis doing what they've been doing at the highest level for a long time.
The MSI is built to be the event that sets the tone for your season. More games, better competition, a top-tier venue, and a team that knows exactly how to run a top class event.
