Let me tell you what not to do when you're trying to get traffic as an affiliate.
When I started, I did what everyone said to do:
▶ Post on social media. ▶ Use hashtags. ▶ Drop my affiliate link wherever I could.
I was everywhere… and nowhere. Posting daily. Getting likes but no clicks. A few curious DMs, maybe… but no buyers. No traction. Just exhaustion.
Turns out, I wasn’t building traffic… I was chasing attention.
Big difference.
Here’s the shift that finally worked:
I stopped trying to go viral and started creating pathways.
Instead of shouting into the void, I built simple content funnels that led people from curiosity to click.
For example: I’d share a 3-line story about something I learned (real, relatable stuff) Then tease a solution… but don’t give it all away End it with: “If you’re curious, I put something together that shows exactly how this works…”
That link? That’s the start of the journey. Now people are clicking because they’re interested, not because I shouted loudest.
When you frame traffic as guiding people… not grabbing them… the whole thing feels smoother. Cleaner. And yes, it converts better too.
So, if your affiliate traffic feels like a hamster wheel... maybe it’s time to stop running and start leading.
More tips like this coming soon. Steve
P.S. Believe it or not, this was just one of the traffic gems inside the 365 traffic boosters I picked up here.
