Hello everyone,
Have you ever looked back at an old project, and felt a little disappointed? It’s easy to see the flaws, the imperfections, the things we wish we’d done differently. We often close that chapter and decide the only way forward is to start something completely new.
I had this exact feeling recently. I was digging through my archives and found photo data I had given up on years ago. My memory of it was that it was "not good enough." My first instinct was to delete it and move on.
But this time, I decided to give it a second look. Instead of focusing on its flaws, I approached it with the patience and care I've learned since I first captured it. I didn't add anything new; I just worked with what was already there. And slowly, something incredible happened. A hidden beauty I had completely missed before began to emerge.
It was a powerful reminder that so much of what we're looking for isn't "out there" in some new purchase or a fresh start. It's already within us, in our past experiences and forgotten attempts, just waiting for us to look again with kinder, wiser eyes.
I was so moved by this idea, that I made a short video about the experience, which you can see here (it's about astrophotography, but the message is clear for you to see and apply elsewhere in your life): |
