Sometimes, God Speaks in the Unexpected

Sometimes what feels like a disruption is actually part of God's plan.

During one of our Summer GetAways this year, one of our guests shared something deeply personal with Pastor Nettamara who was leading the recreation for the week.

They had been praying to hear God.

They wanted to be able to hear God's voice during church and worship—to know His love and His direction—and they wished they could experience that.

During the week, Pastor Alison was talking about what it means to hear God.

Then came Worship Drumming.

Nettamara, had prepared a playlist and practiced the songs she planned to use to lead the activity. It was supposed to happen outside, originally scheduled for earlier in the week.

But plans changed.

The activity had to move indoors.

Then, when the music started, the playlist the tech crew had wasn't the playlist Nettamara had practiced.

To put it simply... things weren't going according to plan.

But God was at work.

After the worship drumming session, that same guest shared something incredible:

“I was finally able to hear God.”

The very thing they had been praying for had happened during this particular activity.

Suddenly, all those little frustrations looked different.

The change of time and location.

The unexpected playlist.

The things that didn't go according to plan.

God had a purpose and a plan in the middle of it all.

A number of smiling faces and groups of people having fun during camp activities.
