Filling the Void: A Community of Care

The journey for families impacted by disability is often a marathon run at a sprinter’s pace. Navigating complex systems and constant advocacy often leaves parents running on empty. One parent recently shared:

“Your group visited the facility where my son is staying. Thank you for what you are doing! You are filling a great void in the special needs community. Is your new monthly group open to visit?”

This "void" is the gap between isolation and belonging. Closing it requires the coordinated effort of what our guest, Connie, calls an “Awesome” team:

“I want to Thank You and all the other People who work with the Special Touch Get Away Camp and the Staff and CITS and the Nurses and the Kitchen Helpers and everyone else who helps in any way You are all Awesome.” ~Connie

Your Support Activates the Team

When you give to Special Touch, you activate a nationwide network dedicated to making the Cross accessible. This month, we celebrate our “Awesome” team:

  • Missionaries & Board Members: Our leaders raise their own support, ensuring your donations go directly toward ministry impact.

  • Local Leaders & Volunteers: The "boots on the ground" who create welcoming spaces where families find true belonging.

  • Financial Partners: Individuals, Businesses, and Church Congregations that provide year-round financial support, keeping their hearts open to everyone.

  • Prayer Warriors: Intercessors who provide a "tangible hedge of safety." Prayer isn’t the least you can do—it’s the best
