THE DUST BOWL

As day turns into night.  The most powerful "Black Northern" hits Texas full force.  The infamous "Black Sunday" of April 14, 1935.  This dust storm was 500 miles wide, 400 miles deep and 3 miles high.
They were called the dirty thirties and for good reasons.  Aside from migration out of the Dust Bowl there was great sickness in the land for those who stayed behind as the soil permeated everything including a person's lungs.  "Dust Bowl Girl" was taken in San Antonio, Texas (July 10, 1933).
