INCHON LANDINGS

Imperfections in these images reflect actual battle conditions. The Inchon Landings in the Republic of Korea took place on September 15, 1950. We assess that these were U. S. Army troops who landed on the 17th. The mud flats at Inchon extend about 1/2 mile into the Yellow Sea which made the invasion at that location problematic to say the least. Troops can be seen departing LSTs above. The tracks of landing vehicles can be seen in the photo of the beach and the mud flats in the photo below. See "Inchon Landing".
