Subject: Some quick advice to help you

Hello everyone,

This is Dan.  Thank you all for your great emails and feedback to Joel’s recent videos and the awesome email from Monica.

In case you missed it, her email is below.  She closed on selling her business Monday morning.  To say her business was transformed in recent years is an understatement.  We started working with her approximately three years ago when she was 100% Medicaid broker and her business was, as Joel says, a “ticking time bomb.”  She closed for just under $1M which is a great success considering she started with a single vehicle working for Logisticare in 2017.

Monica's success can be credited to her hard work, and to take another page out of Joel’s book, she “trusted the process” while working with Joel. This leads me to the reason for this email.

In corresponding with some of you while Joel remains off grid in the Adirondacks (and yes, he claims he is training for the Olympics. Not making that up.) I want to encourage you never stress over or get caught up into the “broker whirlwind.”  The brokers are notorious for demanding you "sign now," or "sign by [date], or if they really need you, they will have multiple people contact you by phone and email.  They will have their "Contract Negotiator" contact you, or their "Vendor Relations Liaison," or whatever fancy title they assign their people.  Do not get caught up in their hoopla.  Having different people contact you with different titles and sometimes conflicting messages is all designed to keep you off balance and build the sense of urgency, so you don't stop to properly evaluate and think things through.  This all leads to mistakes that hurt you and favor them.

Again, trust the process.  These same principals hold true for negotiations with facilities or prospective buyers and sellers.
