Subject: Renting trucks for your business

Hello to everyone in our growing broker community!  As always, I hope this message finds you all doing well and business is booming!
I went to pick up my mother at her house and I noticed a guy delivering big jugs of water to an elderly couple across the street.  It's not unusual for them to have water delivered because I've seen them have water delivered before by this water company that's big in the northeast.

After coming out of their garage carrying the second jug of water I stopped him for a second and asked why he's driving a Penske truck instead of his normal truck.  He said "My truck is down - can't afford to lose out!"  Needless to say, I congratulated him on his resourcefulness.

(Yes, that picture is taken through the windshield of my truck)
The reason why I share this image/story is because that's EXACTLY what some of our contractors do in my broker business.  If a vehicle breaks down, if they don't own their own truck, or we load then up with work orders, they'll rent a Uhaul, Penske, or other truck to get the job done.

I'm sharing this rather insignificant story because I just loved the resourcefulness and seeing other companies in other industries doing the same thing - just finding a way to get the job done!  It's another example of the freedom and flexibility associated with owning your own broker business.  You still hustle and make money and don't have to worry about DOT regulation, Medicaid, insurance, etc.

I'm leaving in a short few weeks for my pilgrimage to the motherland - Italy!  I'll be gone for most of September.  Prior to my departure, I'm going down south to meet "spy on" and meet a bunch of my contractors who I have yet to meet as well as meet with some retailers and business owners.

I'm leaving early in the morning on Friday, the 23rd, and heading straight down I-81.  I'm already meeting with Doug Wright, and NEMT provider in Pennsylvania, at Dunkin Donuts in Harrisburg.

If any of you are in close proximity to I-81 and want to meet for coffee to "talk shop" and we can coordinate, let me know.  We'll hook up.

When I return, every weekend is going to be about Army Football with the exception of the Round Table Gathering in Atlanta on the weekend of October 19th.

Feel free to reach out if you're close to I-81 and want to meet for coffee (AND donuts cuz I'm a true FAT Man!).  If you're all about the Round Table Gathering, feel free to contact my Assistant, Emilia, at emiliardaniels@yahoo.com.

See you at the Top!
