Subject: Quick Important Updates

Hello everyone,

This is Dawn.  I hope you are all having a great weekend.

With a lot going on with various providers, acquisitions, and Joel meeting with some of you in Florida in November, I want to address and answer some various important questions and topics in no particular order:

1. When working with either Joel or us, "Team DDC as he affectionately refers to us," we will add your custom market analysis project to our queue so we can start work as soon as possible, but that does not start your one-on-one coaching.

We work to accommodate your timing to the best of our ability.  Some people prefer to wait until we complete their market analysis while others prefer to get started right away.  There is no right way.  It is really based on you and your specific needs.

2. As mentioned, we work exceptionally hard to accommodate our one-on-one clients, but the reason why we focus exclusively on email correspondence is for multiple reasons.

First, it gives us and you a paper trail to assist with communication and documentation.

Second, corresponding via email gives all of us a more convenient and faster response time.  I know some people don't like to email, but in an age of texting and technology, it is feasible and most suitable.

Third, especially with Joel, communicating via email gives him the flexibility to read and respond to messages when traveling.  The only time when he experiences difficulty with email is when he and the family are up in the Adirondacks.

3. There are no other dates for Joel's possible round table gathering.  He has a very tight schedule throughout the rest of this year and into next year.  Many have asked about different dates and locations, but there are none.  He hopes to confirm everything this week for Tampa.

A provider in Orlando, roughly an hour and a half away from Tampa, expressed disappointment that Joel's event is so far away - seriously.

Years ago, when Joel was hosting an event in upstate New York, we had a service member literally take personal leave and traveled all the way from Afghanistan - talk about being committed to your own success.

Equally incredible but for a different reason, at that same event, there was a Syracuse-based provider, roughly 75 miles north, complaining they couldn't make it because of distance.  Some things you seriously can't make up.

4. If you are concerned about Joel's discretion or lack thereof, and you think you need or want him to sign an NDA before assisting you, honestly, you don't need to work with Joel.

It is a rarity when people ask before starting one-on-one, but we even had someone ask about having Joel sign an NDA for his upcoming gathering in Florida.  Especially with other attendees present, such a request is simply impractical.

If you have watched any of Joel's videos or read any of his messages, you are sure to notice that he is always very specific in redacting, deleting, and not mentioning sensitive information.  He takes confidentiality very seriously.

I have been with Joel since 2010.  Dan and Charlie have been with him even longer.  I think it is worth mentioning that Joel really does not need to be doing any of this.  He doesn't need the money.  He prioritizes family, friends and traveling, and as I mentioned in the past, attempting to place demands on Joel is like trying to pin Jello to a wall.  It doesn't work and is a waste of time.

I know it doesn't sound very good, but we have turned more prospective work away because someone demands Joel hosts weekly conference calls, zoom meetings, etc. It is just not going to happen.  At that point, you need to decide if you really need Joel's help.

5. If you are wanting to sell your business and enlist Joel's help, you need to have your financials in good order.  I can't stress this point enough.  We are currently juggling a few acquisitions, and looking for some additional sellers in key locations, but it is absolutely critical that you have your financials in good coherent order.  If making sense of your financials is a struggle or a chore to assemble, then there is no way Joel is going to work to bring a buyer to the table.

If necessary, have your accountant or a professional bookkeeper work to verify and assemble your YTD and last three years of financials so Joel can better value your business and present it accurately to our buyers.

If Joel is bringing both of you together, buyer and seller, and you are splitting the cost of retainer and closing fees, then there is no favoritism.  Joel is going to work to establish the best possible solution for both of you.
