Thank you all for your great questions and inquiries to my post yesterday. We have received a lot of emails and a ton of questions. I would like to answer some of the most common questions to help offer more insight.
When is the Union Pacific Railroad RFI going to be published?
I believe it’s coming later this month. Union Pacific reached out to us in search of transportation solution s because of expanding services. That is why they are looking for 5-10 year contracts.
What are the areas where Union Pacific needs providers?
They said all the service areas will be outlined in the RFI, but I believe she said they operate in 23 states.
Do you need to be an active UMTPG member to receive RFQ/RFIs?
Technically no, but we will offer information to our active members first. If we don’t have any active members in the service areas we will then share information with non-members. After we see the RFI and learn the associated details we will share them with providers in the applicable areas.
How quickly do you need to submit a proposal?
We don’t know yet. This will be our first time working with Union Pacific but I’m sure the information will be outlined in the RFI.
As a side note, we received more VA RFQs today. I am awaiting Joel’s confirmation before publishing. So keep checking your email for those details.
