Subject: A Great Study in Anthropolgy
Hello to everyone within the Million Dollar Transportation
Community! As always, I hope that this message finds
you all doing well and that business is booming!
It’s often said that people are creatures of habit. And
needless to say, I fall into this category many times.
When I’m in town, I always eat lunch and the same place.
I’ve literally done this for the last three years. And in so
doing, as you can probably imagine, I have come to know
many of the other regulars at this restaurant.
Today, a really nice 65 year old man named John whom I
have seen plenty of times before came and struck up a
conversation with me. Our conversation was engaging
enough that he eventually asked if he could sit and join me
for which I said yes.
Long story short, it was an absolutely great experiment and
study in anthropology!
During our conversation, in talking about the competition
that exists between two local supermarkets, John pulled
out a small pad of paper that had a tiny calculator attached
to it and showed me all of his documented calculations.
Very proud of himself, John bragged to me how he goes to
these two supermarkets and literally documents how much
each charges PER OUNCE for different products.
For example, he said I’ve discovered that “Wegman’s” will
charge $.53 per ounce while the “Giant” is charging $.49 for
the same product “ABC!” He went on to give me many,
many more examples of different items with varying prices.
After hearing a long laundry list of items, I asked John how
long he’s been doing this for. He proudly insisted “All my life!”
In an effort to make John feel good I congratulated him and
said “Good job, Sir. I’m very impressed.”
But by congratulating John, it was like I opened the flood
gates!
John started telling me about all the ways in which he is
frugal to include his jacket and scarf that he purchased 20
plus years ago at a local thrift store.
And trust me, his scarf and jacket looked all of 40 plus
years old!
(Oh, stop thinking I’m mean and judgmental! The truth is
the truth and if you’d have seen it you’d of thought the
same thing too!)
Anyways, I again congratulated John for his frugality
regarding his coat and scarf.
Eventually, I couldn’t resist anymore. In a very serious
manner I said “Sir, you’re very disciplined in being frugal.
You must have a ton of money that you’re sitting on in all
these years of saving money.”
Shaking his head side to side and very much insistent
John said “Oh no, not at all!”
I followed up by asking “Well, what exactly do you do with
all your money.” Looking at me like I’m crazy, John said,
“Nothing! I just never really worked to make much money.”
Our conversation went on for another 20-30 minutes which
included everything from war and politics to computers and
cell phones…both of which John has neither!
But during our conversation the thought of this video just
kept screaming at me!
I recently sent this video out to all of you. And if you haven’t
yet watched it, WATCH IT! And if you’ve already watched it,
watch it again!
As you watch this video, think of John.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. I’m being mean. I’m being
judgmental. Who am I to judge John? If he never wanted to
make money and live such a pathetically frugal existence
then that’s his issue. And you’re right it is his choice and
more power to him.
But you know what. It’s absolutely insane! That’s why!
Look, bottom line is this. If you don’t want to prosper, that’s
tragic and that’s your fault! Why, because God wants you to
prosper! You’re supposed to prosper! We’re supposed to
prosper!
And no, my opinion on this issue doesn’t make me or others
like me money hungry, greedy, superficial, or anything else
negative. Rather, if anything, it makes us good stewards of
God’s blessings!
I know there are many of you out there that are not making
a lot of money. The economy stinks. I got that. But despite
the economy, there are still tons of ways to make money!
Watch this video and think to yourself, do you want to be like
John, 65 years old, no savings, proud because you literally
saved some pennies on a few ounces?!?!
Seriously, what the heck!?
Or, do you want to take control of your life, make REAL
money, prosper and enjoy?
I know, some of you think I’m mean because of this message.
But in my opinion, it’s just crazy! It’s tragic. It’s moronic.
It’s JUST NOT NECESSARY!
Money is all around us. Go forth and attack! Go forth and
prosper! Go forth and expand your ceiling of success! Go
forth and do God’s will!
Watch this video again and again. Change your mindset
and start making REAL money! I know it’s mean to say, but
DON’T BE LIKE JOHN!
