If found this statement from Angelina Jolie in a newsletter from years ago, and I love it now as much as I did then.

Figure out who you are separate to your family, and the man or woman you’re in a relationship with. Find out who you are in this world and what you need to feel good alone. I think that’s the most important thing in life. Find a sense of self because with that you can do anything else. —Angelina Jolie

When your sense of self is aligned with the Divine, what other people think about your choices affects you less.

If you have ever made significant choices in your life to please others, without feeling aligned, you constantly feel like you are off course. You know you’ve got to get on track with what you ARE TRULY here to do, not what you think you SHOULD do.

When your will and Divine will are aligned, life feels great! It’s easier to be at peace, even when people you love don’t understand.

I know this firsthand. Like so many of us, in my family, I’m the weird aunt!

I used to cringe at the thought of going to family get togethers because the only way everyone felt comfortable was if I didn’t talk about how I viewed life.

But it was actually a Thanksgiving dinner with the family, when everything changed for me.

One of my family members announced that when his kids got interested in strange and weird things, he figured his kids were probably meant for me and came to him by mistake.

Oh, I couldn’t let that one slip by. I didn’t want my nieces and nephews to think that there was anything wrong with their spiritual gifts and psychic interests.

So, I teased my family, saying with delight and pride, Yes, I’m the weird aunt of the family. Every family gets one for the nieces and nephews to talk to, and in our family that’s me!

The entire family laughed and nodded their heads—and the spell was broken.

I was truly free to be me from that day forward, and so was the entire family!

Now in candor, stating who I was, in that moment in our family, was healing balm. If I had said it defensively, it wouldn’t have helped.

If I had been in a different emotional state, it might have been better to lovingly hold space for them to talk about themselves. And that would have been okay with me.

But the timing was right. I’d been using my spiritual gifts for years and in that moment, I knew I was in Divine alignment!

You came to Earth with these: your unique and precious spiritual gifts.

You have these gifts to help you in fulfilling your destiny, and to make the lives of others better.

When you recognize and nurture your spiritual gifts, you create an opening for Divine guidance.

It is simply easier to see how to heal, attract your partner, nurture better relationships, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Most of all, when you are utilizing the Divine abilities you came to Earth with, you feel alive and bright! Finally, life here makes sense.

Spiritual gifts are so important, that when I sat in medicine circle with my elder, she expected each of us in circle to be able to identify our various “medicine gifts” or abilities.

Identifying and nurturing my spiritual gifts catapulted my healing, relationships and sense of purpose.

So, when I discovered years ago that I was able to identify other people’s spiritual gifts, I started offering readings. I quickly discovered that this type of reading is about not only honoring your spiritual abilities, but discovering how to use them in service to yourself and others.

I know when spiritual abilities are activated your life gets clearer and you feel more fulfilled than ever!
