Subject: Where wounds live and how to heal them

Happy Weekend Friend,

Have you noticed how difficult it can be, with the abuses we see in the world, to forgive people for the harm they have committed?

Have you ever felt as though there was something you did, or neglected to do, that you find unforgivable?

Or perhaps there is something someone did to you or didn’t do for you that feels too terrible to be forgiven?

I have to admit, I still have my moments, when I find it difficult to forgive myself or someone else.

And yet, I know that finding compassion for ourselves and others when it is the hardest to feel—is the compassion that counts the most—for it engenders the greatest healing.

So how do we do it?

First, we need to get to the root of the wounds we continue to play out and repeat with ourselves and others, as adults.

Woundedness—hate, abandonment, rejection, and abuse—are consistently rooted in pain we have experienced as children.

When we get to the root, compassion can heal.

When I am having a difficult time feeling compassion for something I’ve done, I ask myself, how old was I when I first remember doing this?

Consistently, I’ll be taken back to some young tender age, when I felt completely out of control. My behavior (the negative behavior I continue to play out as an adult) was the way I attempted to protect myself as a child.

For example, if I get angry with someone for not listening to me, I know without a doubt, my anger is really rooted in my experiences as a little girl.

I was raised in a family and church where the thoughts of men mattered most. Mine, were in effect, second-class opinions.

The one who needs my love and compassion is a little girl who had a few enlightened thoughts and wanted to be heard.

When I struggle with someone else, and ask my higher self how old they were when they were first injured emotionally, I often see a little child aching to be recognized and loved.

My compassion can then lovingly Hold them in their struggle, and in that love, I find the compassion that heals us both.

This is the reason I love inner child work. When we access the broken parts of our past with compassion, we are able to recreate ourselves.

We can recreate a new childhood in our subconscious minds in which we are fully loved, accepted, seen, heard and respected.

Once recreated, our adult experiences change! And that includes the triggers we experience when we spend time with family over the holidays.

Now you know why I put together my Healing the Inner Child; Awakening Your Destiny program. Each one of us deserves to experience life from the perspective of a healed child self.

You can check out the program below. You can get it as an independent program, or get it for free with Women of Power and Spirit Gold Circle membership. ;)
