Some beliefs make us feel good like:
I’m really good at ____________.
I’m a great friend to have.
I have a big heart for ___________.
Other beliefs sabotage us like:
I’m not good enough to ______________.
Nobody cares about my ______________.
I never seem to be able to _______________.
So as we identify some of those beliefs we've been living with, many of us spend some of our personal development time reframing those negative/sabotaging beliefs with thoughts like:
I AM good enough to _____________.
And here’s where it can get tricky. Because a belief like I’m NOT good enough typically forms at such a young age, even while some part of you wants to trust in your new belief, the inner child inside of you thinks you are fooling yourself.
The one thing it’s helpful to know when you are creating new beliefs is that most of your current beliefs were typically formed when you were very young and vulnerable.
As a result they can be tricky to recognize, so often we need help to identify and replace those beliefs and create a new level of inner trust.
But here’s the good news. It's worth the effort, because as they are identified and released, it gets easier to embrace, fun and empowering new beliefs that fuel your life in the direction you’ve always wanted to go.
