Subject: URGENT UPDATE: We were hacked... apologies for spam!

Hi Friend

In our previous message (copied below) regarding spam that hackers sent purporting to come from us, we didn't mention something important that has come to our attention:

If you see one of these messages in your inbox with the subject line "drink this “belly fat Drāno” juice to lose 28 lbs in 21 days?", ideally just do not open it.

More importantly, however, do not click on any links within those spam emails. This is how hackers can actually get into your system. This is sound everyday advice regarding any emails from any sender you do not know—or from a sender you do know but the message seems out of character.

We truly hope you did not think we were sending you emails about quick-fix miracle cures for belly fat!

Thanks again for your understanding and grace!

Much love,

This is so embarrassing...

You may have received one or more spam emails purporting to come from healinghelp@misahopkins.com over the past 24 hours. Rest assured that was not our doing.

This unfortunate incident is purely the work of hackers in a practice so common now that it has a name—phishing. The good news is that we do not believe that any personal data was compromised in this attack.

Please rest assured that we have taken steps to prevent further abuse. Also know that we will always honor our promise to never share or sell your email address—and keep your data safe.

I am grateful every day for the opportunity to be of service to so many wonderful people like you in the world. Thank you so much for your understanding and grace!

Holding you in my heart and songs,
