| Happy Weekend, Friend!
It’s that time of year when we make plans to visit our families, and cross our fingers that everything goes well.
In other words, we hope we don’t experience a fight or have a compelling urge to get away from family as soon as possible.
We hope that just maybe this year, we will enjoy our time together the way we’ve always hoped our family would.

Personally, I was a bit of verbal scrapper at our family get-togethers. As a result, I imagine my parents were as dubious about my arrival at holidays as I was dubious about being with them.
Before I started my deep spiritual work, I assumed the problems were entirely on their shoulders. But as I started looking inward, I saw my own role in our family’s dysfunction.
And that’s when it all turned around.
My tendency to argue and blame was the dysfunctional energy I brought to the family. It added a lot of unnecessary tension to our gatherings.
Eventually, I figured out how to work WITH my family (dysfunctional patterns included), and now I’m happy to say, I get along with all my family members.
